In late January BT took delivery of the first of a number of Scania/ Volgren 14.5 m three axle buses which are to be used on routes to the University of Queensland and Browns Plains as both routes are operating with much crowding.rnBT has launched the annual driver recruitment campaign to replace the 300 out of 1700 drivers who leave each year.rnBrisbane bus patronage is expected to reach 70 million in the 2008-09 financial year, up from 44 million about five years ago.rnTransLink will enhance local bus services in the Upper Mt Gravatt area with the construction of a ＄2 million bus priority lane on Klumpp Road. The lane will improve bus access, service reliability and travel times along the Klumpp Road corridor and the approach to the South East Busway. The TransLink-funded project will be built by Brisbane City Works and work began on 9 February.The first stage of this project involved the construction of a bus lane and indented bus bay on Klumpp Road fronting the Hibiscus Sports Complex. The second and final stage of the project will provide an in-bound bus priority lane along Klumpp Road, connecting the existing South East Busway access ramp with the facilities from stage one of the project.
