Cardiff Station is to have a $6.5 million Easy Access upgrade and work will include: the installation of two lifts, one from the footbridge to the platform and the second from the footbridge to the Mary Street carpark; an extension of the footbridge to the west to meet the lift to the Mary Street carpark; canopies to the lift entries; a new ramp on the eastern sidernof the footbridge, linking to Main Road; additional CCTV and lighting and an accessible toilet. Detailed design work started in May and the upgrade is expected to be completed by the end of 2012.
