Reopening of the Outer Harbor line was delayed until 9 May because additional time was required to address the presence of asbestos as well as extra steelwork repairs identified following the removal of the old track and ballast on the Port Adelaide viaduct. Additional buses operated along Port Road to/from the City; these services were unadvertised. In the morning and evening peak they left the timing point ahead of the scheduled bus service. Additional buses were also similarly operated on weekends to/from the Fletcher Road terminus, stop 48. In addition there was a bus direct from the City on Friday nights leaving North Terrace opposite the station at 2120 which set down passengers only as a train substitute until the last passenger alighted and then returned to depot.
