Legislation has been introduced to Parliament to establish the NSW Infrastructure Fund, 'Restart NSW which will be funded from windfall State tax revenue allocated through the Budget process and other funds such as the proceeds of issuing 'Waratah Bonds'. It is also intended to use funds from the proceeds of the proposed desalination plant sale. Infrastructure NSW will determine spending priorities with 30% reserved for projects in regional areas. Projects to be funded by Restart NSW will be considered as part of a 5 year Infrastructure Plan and 20 year State Infrastructure Strategy, with Infrastructure NSW to make recommendations as to which projects will be funded.
