With the exception of New South Wales the suburban and interurban railway operators in Australia have opted for 23 m long single deck cars, generally with two double door entrances. In Melbourne most of the EMU cars have three entrance vestibules. The new EMUs for Adelaide will follow the Brisbane and Perth approach.
