During 2014, QR and TransLink began to advertise a more frequent half hourly service on portions of its network following the duplicating of the line between Mitchelton and Ferny Grove and opening of the Springfield line. This enabled a 15 minute headway on some sections, including the Cleveland line as far east as Cannon Hill. However laudable this is, it must still be remembered that the majority of the stations on the Brisbane suburban system still only have a 30 minute headway service, the comparable city of Perth having achieved 15 minute frequency running for well over a decade now for all its suburban stations.
