Interurban to Gympie

When I lived at Nambour in 1987, a favourite day excursion was a return run to Gympie on the rail motor. In those days of course, before the opening of the Main Line Electrification project in 1989, Gympie retained a big rambling station in the heart of the town with an island platform and busy yard containing some of my favourite English Electric locos. It was a lovely day trip and I must say I miss those days greatly.
