Electric and hybrid buses introduced to Canberra for a 12 month trial

Transport Canberra held a media event on 25 August to announce that three new electric and hybrid buses would be entering regular fleet operations from 28 August for a 12 month trial. Two of the three buses from Carbridge and Volvo had been in Canberra for a few weeks, and had been wrapped with AOA branding visibly proclaiming their type of drivetrain, and equipped with Nxtbus and MyWay equipment as well as the regular fitout of Transport Canberra specific signage in the passenger area. The third bus, from Carbridge, will enter service in December. The buses are externally very similar to the rest of the fleet to the extent that most passengers will not even know they are travelling on one, except, to wonder why it is so quiet.
