Why Brisbane Trains are failing

It should be obvious to anyone reading the media in recent times that there are major problems with Brisbane's suburban train service. As permanently coupled six car new suburban trains sit in the yard at Fishermans Island awaiting commissioning, QR is still reeling from a number of public transport disasters involving poor manpower planning and forward provision. Not providing adequate drivers for the new Kippa Ring line opening was not something a well managed transport system would do, the problem seemingly compounded with inadequacies of staffing and trains expected to impact on train services during the Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast. The opening of the Redcliffe line and the commencement of the Commonwealth Games were events QR/TransLink should have anticipated and planned. Somehow, they did not.
