摘要

The three new azomethine compounds derived from amino methyl propanediol and substituted methoxy benzaldehydes have been reported for the first time.To establish the complex ability of the ligands,studies have been carried out in presence of cadmium.The complexes were reduced reversibly at d.m.e.undergoing two electron reduction.The stepwise formation constants have been calculated using DeFord and Hume method.The order of the stability of cadmium complexes has been explained with the help of inductive effect,mesomeric effect,steric hinderence and chelate formation.
