Experimental studies on an externally pressurized crosshead-pin bearing

In a low speed two-stroke cycle diesel engine, one of the most important issues in recent years has been improvement of the load-carrying capacity of the crosshead-pin bearing in the context of increasing engineer power. In the present study, load limit tests and fatigue limit tests using a dynamic load bearing apparatus were carried out to clarify the lubrication characteristics of a crosshead-pin bearing to which an externally pressurized lubrication system had been applied.
