Overview of the Electric Power Research Institute's Research for Long Term Operations

At the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), the Long Term Operations (LTO) Program is developing the technical information which can be used to base decisions regarding extended nuclear plant life. These research results will inform those considering extended operation past 30, 40, or 60 years and beyond, and those considering the long-term impacts of aging. Much of the research is coordinated and/or collaborated with the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
