Attila and MCNP6.2 Validation with the JASPER-IHX Benchmark for Sodium-Cooled Fast Reactor Shielding Applications

Overall, the verification and validation tests that were developed and selected for this work demonstrate the unstructured finite element mesh functionality of MCNP6.2 and its integration with the Attila software. The CADIS methodology implemented in Attila is a valuable tool for accelerating MCNP6.2 shielding analyses. The results that were presented in this work are only a subset of the SINBAD-JASPER-IHX experimental benchmark and it is expected that future work will include more comparisons from this benchmark as well as the other benchmarks from SINBAD that are directly applicable to SFRs.
