Initial Study for De-Inventory of Spent Nuclear Fuel from the Kewaunee Site

A team of professionals from national laboratories and the nuclear industry has developed an initial de-inventory report on removing SNF from KPS. The report illustrates options for SNF removal activities. Initial site-specific de-inventory reports have also been developed for other shutdown nuclear power plant sites, and reports on other shutdown nuclear power plant sites are expected in the near future. All completed de-inventory reports are available at https://www.energy.gove/downloads/initial-site-specific-de-inventory-reports. As transport operations draw near, these reports could be revised to include location-specific input from stakeholders such as tribal and state representatives.
