Initial Site-Specific Studies for De-Inventory of Spent Nuclear Fuel

A contracting team with extensive experience in transportation campaigns in the nuclear industry has developed initial de-inventory reports on removing SNF from five shutdown nuclear power plant sites. The reports illustrate options for SNF removal activities. Initial site-specific de-inventory reports are also being developed for other shutdown nuclear power plant sites. As transport operations draw near, DOE intends for these reports to be revised to include location-specific input from stakeholders such as tribal and state representatives.
