If there is one thing that every passenger train in any country has in common, it is the ticket to ride. Author Gordon Fairchild's book exhibits a rainbow of tickets spanning the world, taking you on a trip without leaving your loveseat. The book is organized alphabetically, with nearly 900 tickets from Aden, now part of south Yemen, to Zimbabwe. Each ticket is showcased in full color with an explanation of the date and place the ticket was issued, as well as some historical insight. Some tickets date to the late 1800s.
