CN CEO departs abruptly, replaced by Ruest

Canadian National's board of directors is looking for a new, permanent CEO, following the abrupt and unexpected departure of CEO Luc Jobin. CN's board members are entrusting the railroad to Chief Marketing Officer Jean-Jacques Ruest as interim chief executive. It was not clear if the congestion issues on CN's Western Corridor contributed to Jobin's exit after just 18 months as CEO. Jobin replaced Claude Mongeau as CEO in 2016. CN officials decline to comment beyond a March 5 news release.
