Russian customs authorities estimate that around 80% of goods imported into Russia, including those proclaimed imported but actually produced within the Russian customs territory, infringe intellectual property (IP) rights. The territory of the Russian Federation (RF) is increasingly used as a channel for counterfeit products travelling between China and Europe or between European nations, and the production of counterfeit products in Russia and their export to Europe is increasing.
