Clothing tops fastest growing UK exports in 2013

Clothing was the fastest growing UK export in 2013, according to Santander's analysis of Office of National Statistics trade data. Exports of clothing increased by 16% from 2012 to £5.2 billion ($8.8 billion), the biggest increase of all UK exports. Other sectors registering export growth included the aircraft sector, which is up 8%, and scientific and photographic equipment, which is up 7%. Areas where exports have declined in value include works of art - down 5% to £4.5 billion - and road vehicles other than cars, which are down 6% to £6.8 billion.
