Ansaldo STS wins $972 million Copenhagen metro contract

Ansaldo STS has signed €700 million ($A972 million) contract to build the technological system for the city of Copenhagen's new metro, the Cityringen (city circle line), which is scheduled to start operating in early 2018. The Cityringen will be a completely new metro line and will run entirely underground. It will be constructed according to the same principles as the existing Copenhagen Metro and will be a fully automated, driverless metro extending for 16 km through the centre of Copenhagen and connecting 17 stations.
