Since the adoption of the Framework Convention on Climate Change at the Earth Summit in 1992, we have been endeavoring to suppress CO_2 generation in 2000 and on to the level in 1990 as a companywide task, Since electric power as a costly energy source accounts for 66% of CO_2 generation by the equipment related to aluminum casting, adoption of gas fueled heat insulation furnace will be effective in reducing CO_2 genera tion and the energy cost. We have, therefore, developed a regenerative system involving minimum thermal loss. This paper introduces a regenerative combustion burner we have recently developed for this purpose together with an actual example that satisfies both flame stability and low NOx requirements at excellent level.
