Precision Measurement System of Transmission Error Under Load of Helical Gears

摘要

To measure the transmission error, that is exciting force of gear noise, with high accuracy, we developed a precision measurement system that has a quasi-static configuration based on a weight-balancing system which allows the effect of torsional vibration to be ignored and an angle-count-type signal processing system that makes a limitless measurement range and high resolution possible. To make sure that the developed system is highly reliable, we compared the levels and characteristics between the calculated transmission error from tooth surfaces and the measured one. Finally, we experimentally confirmed that transmission error curves are made from the change in the number of teeth meshing with each other during gear rotation.
