Development of TOYOTA New 1GZ-FE Engine

The first V-12 cylinder engine for passenger car in Japan, the 1GZ-FE, which is the status of high luxury vehicles has been developed. In order to proceed the merit of V-12 cylinder engine. Intelligent Variable Valve Timing (VVT-i) system. Slant squish combustion chamber, Iridium tipped spark plug and Intelligent electronic throttle control system were introduced. Through these features this new 1GZ-FE has achieved an overwhelming smoothness and quietness and yet highest torque among the same displacement engine at low and medium engine speed. Additionally the 1GZ-FE achieved good fuel economy and high reliability which exceed any other competitors.
