INTERREG IIIB - progress with transnational co-operation programmes in the UK

摘要

Interreg IIIB programmes promote the balanced development of the European territory through transnational co-operation projects on spatial planning. While each programme sets its own specific priorities, they all work in the same broad areas, following the European Spatial Development Perspective (ESDP) policy principles of: 1. development of spatial development strategics on a transnational level, including co-operation among cities and between urban and rural areas, with the object of promoting balanced and sustainable development; 2. promotion of efficient and sustainable transport networks and improved access to the information society; and 3. promotion of the environment, and the sound management of cultural heritage and natural resources, particularly water.
