JLL HIGHLIGHTS URBAN LOGISTICS IMPACT

Property investment management company Jones Lang LaSalle [JLL] has highlighted how urban logistics experienced higher demand in 2018 than the previous year, which has consequently meant price increases in the south-east. Alistair Meadows, head of UK Capital Markets for JLL told an audience at its annual breakfast briefing event in London last month that there is further scope for logistics and retail to "outperform" within these local areas. He said changes in consumer spending and changing shopping habits would resort in less shops, but also opportunities to create different business propositions. Sue Price, head of UK Corporate Solutions, also emphasised that connecting hubs like Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow would create a strong real estate ecosystem.
