Wastewater resulting in some industries contains large amounts of useful substances, which are removed as pollutants. Recovery of these substances can be advantageous either by protecting the ecosystems, which receive them, or by reducing energy consumption, compared to the traditional wastewater cleaning methods and by reuse of valuable substances. In previous works, the authors established the protein content of wastewater resulted in slaughterhouses and proved that "salting out" with ammonium sulphate was a suitable method to separate pre-fractionate proteins from water. The aim of the present study was to process the product resulted by "salting out" removal of impurities, with special regards to ammonia ions, protein separation into narrow fractions and molecular weight determination of the fractions. Also the possibilities to use the separated product as an animal fodder admixture were studied. The results of the studies confirmed that gel-chromatography was suitable in order to achieve complete removal of ammonia ions and separate the "salted out" product into narrow fractions with molecular weight ranging from 10,000 to 200,000. The high and various protein content allowed the product to be successfully tested as an admixture for hen fodder.
