APPENDIX: NATO SUMMITS AND BiH

摘要

NATO summits provide opportunities for heads of state and government of member countries to evaluate and provide strategic direction for Alliance activities. The meetings do not occur on a regular basis, but are important to the Alliance's decision-making process. NATO has used the summits to introduce new policy, invite new members, launch major new initiatives and build partnerships with non-NATO countries. Since the founding of NATO in 1949, twenty-five NATO summits have taken place. What follows are extracts from the official declarations of the summits that took place in the period 2006-12, with an emphasis on NATO's commitment to BiH's advancement in the PfP programmes towards full Alliance membership.
