Memorial train for late Dai Pickup

Following the unveiling of a plaque in memory of the late David (Dai) Pickup in the Ravenglass booking office on April 3, a memorial train, hauled by River Mite, ran up the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway. Dai, born in 1937, died last year. His ashes were scattered as he wished, along the trackside between Hollinghow and Fisherground. Havingrnjoined the R&ERPS in 1960, his service on the society council included being chairman (1976-1980) and secretary (1986-2007).
