￡5m upgrade for Gourock

Work started on March 3 to rebuild Gourock station, a major project on Scotland's Inverclyde route that will cost ￡5million.rnThe station has become run down and lost most of its overall roof. To provide a substantial improvement, Network Rail has worked closely with the local authority to provide better integration of road, rail and ferry links.rnAs well as providing a more welcoming environment for customers and staff, the development will include a covered walkway to the ferry terminal and create a station layout, which is compatible with future redevelopment of the town's waterfront area. Completion is scheduled for November 2010.
