FGW sleeper stock works to Oxford!

In a strange month featuring loco-hauled workings, the apparent lack of an HST set after overnight maintenance delays led to First Great Western's 'Night Riviera' stock - including sleeping cars! - being pressed into service for the 07.22 Paddington to Oxford and 09.01rnreturn. This weird 'commuter' service was top-and-tailed by Class 57/6 Nos. 57602 and 57605. After the round trip, the formation was returned to Old Oak as e.c.s. as per the normal diagram, with an HST being substituted for the rest of the diagram, commencing with the 14.15 Paddington to Cardiff. The RM understands FGW management were not impressed with the late substitution and have told staff to stop playing trains!
