FGW optimistic over sleepers

With annual passenger numbers having risen since 2007 from 20 000 to 30 000, First Great Western is 'optimistic' about the future of its London - Penzance sleeper service. The provision of overnight trains was not included in the Greater Western ITT and the service, which was losing £1m a year, was retained at the franchisee's risk following a local campaign.
