摘要

SEPTEMBER 9 to 11 saw the popular preserved Hungarian Railways (MAV) NoHAB/GM diesel No. M61 -017 heading an international tour called the Karpatalja Express' ('Carpathian Express') into Ukraine (standard gauge lines) and Romania. The journey aimed to link those Hungarians living in these adjoining countries to their ethnic heritage. MAV preserved locomotive, now numbered 2761 017, was photographed at Vynohradiv in Ukraine on September 11. The stock of the 'Karpatalja-Express' was piloted throughout Ukraine by diesel loco No. ChME3-3375, which was taken off during the ceremonies staged by the local Hungarian community in front of the station building.
