Longer trains for Southern

LONGER trains on three key routes will be the order of the day for Southern when the new timetable begins on December 11. Many morning and evening peak services on the East Grinstead Line will be lengthened from eight to 10 or 12 carriages, with service on the Sydenham route being lengthened from eight to 10 carriages. The Redhill route will also benefit from additional carriages with two peak trains being lengthened to 12 carriages. Platform extensions and power upgrades have been carried out.
