The 11.08 King's Cross-York, formed with Class 91 No. 91129+BN17+82222, was seriously delayed near Little Barford power station after the train failed on August 9. The formation was rescued by a Class 67 'Thunderbird' and the service terminated at Peterborough. A further Class 91 No. 91112 was in trouble on September 7 while working the 09.35 King's Cross-Leeds. After failing at Holme, near Peterborough, GBRf Class 66 No. 66746 arrived from Peterborough and took the train to Peterborough where the service was terminated. 'Thunderbird'Class 67 No. 67025 took the failure back to Bounds Green. Clearly, the problem was not resolved as the 91 was in trouble again two days later while working the 09.30 Edinburgh to King's Cross. The train was taken forward from Newcastle by Class 67 No. 67001.
