£20m signalling scheme for LSW route

A major plan to modernise the signalling infrastructure on the Salisbury-Exeter line has been announced by Network Rail. The £20 million scheme will significantly improve the performance of the line and also allow an increase in capacity. Work will be carried out to upgrade equipment at major level crossings along the route, and additional measures will be taken to upgrade the crossing access at Sherbome for passengers in wheelchairs.
