Grants boost for Aln Valley Railway revival project

The Aln Valley Railway, aiming to reinstate the line between Alnwick to Alnmouth, has received a £129,000 grant from the LEADER programme. Northumberland Estates has contributed £30,000 to help progress the revival project (with further donations to be made annually) while Procter & Gamble Charities Fund has contributed £300 towards developing the line's exhibition space. The railway has also launched a 'Sponsor a Sleeper'appeal.
