Talyllyn prepares for 60th anniversary year

Attention is turning to two more Talyllyn Railway locos as 1865-built Fletcher Jennings 0-4-0WT Dolgoch approaches completion after overhaul. Work has included fitting the new boiler, built by the Severn Valley Railway and dispatched from Bridgnorth on March 24, ready for its return to service on May 14 in the TR's 60th anniversary year. Fitted with new tyres, the wheels of Barclay 0-4-OWT No. 6 Douglas have been pressed onto new axles. The axleboxes have been machined and the overhaul is now being completed. Barclay/TR 0-4-2T No. 7 Tom Rolt has received attention to its piston valves.
