Significant progress has been made on repairs to the boiler of the South Devon Railway's Pannier No. 6412, including major plate replacement. Following the SDR's acquisition of R.K. Pridham Engineering (RM Nov), staff are working on the boiler pending completion of a new boiler shop. Pannier No. 6412 was purchased from the WSRA in late-2008 in largely 'kit of parts' condition. Work on the loco's frames has started at Buckfastleigh as a volunteer project and the wheels have been reprofiled. The Pannier was projected to be completed in early 2012 but with progress going so well, it could appear in steam before the end of 2011.
