War of words over use of Royal diesel

The National Railway Museumss (NRM) 'Royal' Class 47 No. 47798 Prince William has been the subject of a heated discussion between the NRM and former owners DB Schenker, with operators West Coast Railways maintaining silence on the matter. The situation is understood to have arisen because the Class 47 has not been used on any meaningful services this year and it has suffered many minor niggling faults. One high profile incident was on the Olympic torch train on June 20 when a WCR Class 37 had to substitute at the last moment.
