Durley collection to be auctioned- and other locos come up for sale

Following the death earlier this year of Barry Curl, the railway and equipment of the Durley Light Railway in Hampshire is to be auctioned on October 6. The collection includes Hunslet 0-4-2T Josephine (originally a 3ft gauge 0-4-2ST -works number 1842 - named Lady Morrison and built to a Kerr Stuart design in 1936 for British Aluminium's line at Lochaber); Hanomag 0-8-0T'Brigadelok: Feldbahn 8310/1917; and O&K diesel No. 20777, which once worked at Norden (all operational); plus track, stock and equipment. The Durley LR dates back to the 1960s when the privately owned site became the base of what was then known as the Hampshire Narrow Gauge Railway Society. The society left in 1991, the railway continuing as a private line.
