Lisbon airport connected to metro

The Lisbon Metro's Red Line was extended from Oriente inter-city station to Lisbon international airport on July 17. The 3.3km line has three stations and had been under construction since February 2007, costing €218 million. Many other planned extensions of the Lisbon Metro have been put on hold due to the country's economic problems.
