More major components secured for new'Patriot'

The lms-Patriot Project has now sourced all three connecting rods for its new-build'Patriot'No. 45551 The Unknown Warrior. An outside and the middle connecting rod from'Jubilee' No. 45697 Achilles have been acquired from Bahamas Locomotive Society while a new forged steel blank billet was produced at Somers Forge, Halesowen, in June to provide the third rod required for the three cylinder loco. With these additions to its parts collection the project now has the majority of the motion components required, including the four coupling rods.
