Elsecar scraps ex-Nene Valley Avonside 0-6-0ST

Avonside0-6-0st 1945/1926 has been scrapped by the Elsecar Heritage Railway. In late January, Elsecar's website reported that the redundant frames and boiler had been sold "for recycling". The connecting rods are reportedly sold "to a steam loco preservationist for use on another restoration project." The loco was last steamed at the Nene Valley Railway in the early 1970s.
