Ayrshire group buys LMS Inspection saloon

The Ayrshire Railway Preservation Group has bought former LMS Inspection saloon No. DM45020 from DB Schenker. Built in 1944, it was modernised in 1993 and subsequently refurbished to serve as EWS chief executive Ed Burkhardt's saloon. The ARPG aims to return the vehicle to service in substantially its current condition and livery, although it may be converted back from air to vacuum braking to work with the group's Andrew Barclay 0-4-OT No. 10 during open days at Dunaskin.
