The 76084 Locomotive Company has launched an appeal aimed at getting BR Standard Class 4 No. 76084 on the main line. This follows the loco's successful return to steam in July at the North Norfolk Railway. The first step towards achieving the main line ambition is fitting Train Protection and Warning System (TPWS) equipment, which will enable No. 76084 to work from Sheringham over Network Rail metals to Cromer. The NNR intends to run its own trains to Cromer in a similar operation to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway trains between Grosmont and Whitby Talks with a train operating company are in progress.
