Six killed in Canadian bus-train crash

Five passengers on a double decker bus, together with the driver, were killed when the vehicle was in collision with a VIA train at an angled level crossing at Fallowfield, Ottawa, on September 18. The front end of the bus was sliced off in the collision. Witnesses say the bus failed to stop at the barriered crossing, even though the warning lights were flashing. The VIA train, hauled by GE P42DC No. 915 was derailed but remained upright after the collision.
