Asylum-seeker problems

I note that Lord Berkeley mentions alleged delays at Brussels Midi by the UK Border Agency and a Eurostar service leaving 100 to 200 passengers behind. There is a major problem with regard to asylum-seekers buying a ticket from Brussels Midi to Lille, and at the same time purchasing an onward ticket from Lille to London St Pancras, thus staying on the train and entering Britain. Hence the need to check passports and tickets on disembarkation in London as well as having Custom & Revenue spot checks.
