Steam Works designs for redeveloped Bridqnorth

Ground investigation works at Bridgnorth started in January as proposals for the SteamWorks visitor attraction are developed. Major redevelopment at Bridgnorth (RM May 2012) is a top priority for funding linked to the Severn Valley Railway's share issue launched last October. Ground-condition tests will help detail the location of buildings and foundation design. The SVR board has not yet approved expenditure on any specific SteamWorks project, but has given the go-ahead for the design of new buildings, development of a station conservation plan, and preparation of a business plan proving the sustainability of the proposals.This material will support bids for funding and an application for planning approval to be submitted in the spring.
