Due to a trackside fatality at Cholsey on the morning of October 30, the following effects on northbound Crosscountry services were observed at Leamington Spa. Class 220 No. 220002 on the 06.15 Southampton Central-Manchester Piccadilly, due at 08.12, arrived 68 minutes late and was due to be terminated at Birmingham New Street. No. 220027 on the 07.40 Reading-Newcastle arrived on time at 08.44, but was diverted via Coventry and Birmingham International where station calls were made. In addition, No. 220003 was sent e.c.s. from Birmingham New Street to Leamington Spa to form a service in the path of the delayed 06.30 Bournemouth- Manchester Piccadilly service, departing on time at 09.12. The 06.30 service itself was expected 44 minutes late and was to be terminated at Birmingham New Street.
