32,000 people book on'Polar Express'!

Two heritage railways have found themselves at the centre of a new marketing phenomenon. The Weardale Railway and the Dartmoor Railway decided to run 'Polar Express'trains this Christmas instead of'Santa Specials'... and have been swamped with bookings. As we closed for press, a staggering 32,000 tickets had been sold. Both lines are owned by British American Railway Services (BARS), which has acquired the UK rights from Warner Brothers to use the Polar Express name and re-enact the railway journey depicted in the film (although that journey was steam-hauled and both UK lines are operating their trains with diesels).
